Pony Tail Mom

So I admit I watch the Batchelor/Batchelorette.  I LOVE Emily's hair
So I see hair like hers and other ppl and want that long hair with the loose curls that flows just perfectly.  WELL, let's be honest....does it ever really work out for me?  NO!!!  My hair gets any where close to long and it drives me nuts and in a pony tail it goes.  It's just easier that way...right?  Well I don't have a hair dresser to do my hair for me everyday and I've come to the conclusion that it probably will get to the point that I can have that pretty hair style.  It just doesn't work for me.  My life is so crazy that the pony tail is the easiest thing to do and gets out of the way of a 6 month old reaching for it.  I came to the conclusion that I need to chop it off.  With it short is easier to do, takes less time, no one is grabbing at it, and lets face it---I'm not pony tail mom when it's short cuz I actually want to do it.  (It also helps that my hubby likes short hair on girls)  So I chopped it off!!  Not only did I chop it but now there's not even hair for a pony tail.  I told the lady I need something that's shorter and something that will look good with my round face.  She told me an A-line would be perfect but that was daring for me, but I did it.  For those who don't know hair, that means it's short in the back and comes longer up front.  I came home and styled it and LOVE IT!!  And surprisingly I don't feel like my face is really fat with the cut.  (that's always my problem with short hair cuts)  So from now on I'll stick with this cut and watch Emily with her long hair.

Father's Day

I love Father's Day and taking the time to spoil my man :)   He does so much for our family and provides for me to stay home with our girls.  He's one of the most patient men I've ever met and dealing with 3 girls in the house and 2 female dogs....that alone takes patience.  ha ha.  I've always heard the way to a man's heart is food so we spent time Sunday making some of Craig's favorites.  I made biscuits & gravy with OJ for breakfast and for dinner made sweet rice with enchiladas (with tortillas from Costco) and for dessert I tried a new pudding cake.  Yum, Yum!  It was a great day at church as usual, except that even at 1:00 I can't help us be on time!  I need to work on that.  The fathers in our ward got a king size candy bar to choose from.  I was taking Jaycee to her class while Craig got his treat and when I sat next to him in sunday school he showed me that he picked out a Milky Way.  (he knows that's one of my favorites)  Now that is love to pick out that knowing he would probably give it to her.  We got Craig a few gifts.  I made a really cool pic for Craig of the girls to take to his office; then he also got a few beef jerky stix (Tillamook of course), a g/c to Home Depot, Sherlock Holmes (his ultimate favorite movie) and he requested The Book of Mormon on CD to listen as he drives to and from work.  I think he liked everything.

I also took the time to call my daddy on such a special day.  It's taken me a few years to come around with him.  We clash a lot of times with our personalities and living at home until 22 he learned what my buttons are and how to push them.  So needless to say I haven't been the best daughter to him.  BUT the past few years, mostly since we moved away, I have really grown a love for my dad.  He does care for me and has done so much to love me in his own way.  I had THE BEST TIME when he came out to our house in December and when he left I found myself crying.  Mostly because I felt bad that I've let my stubbornness come in the way of a good relationship.  It felt so good to talk to him on Sunday and tell him Happy Father's Day because I know simple things like that mean a lot to him.  I do love my dad and thank him for the father that he is.

HOPE EVERY DAD/FATHER OUT THERE HAD A SPECIAL DAY!

Hadley

6 month mark is creeping up on us fast.  Hadi has had some milestones the past 2 weeks.  She's been a pretty onory baby and it's really tiring to deal with.  I really think it's growth spurt mixed with teething.  She wants to chew constantly on rubber things.  And when I'm feeding her it's not enough to just eat with me.  She now does rice w/formula twice a day and has started on foods also.  She showed major signs that she was ready.  She has tried bananas, applesauce, beans (not a fan unless mixed with applesauce) and peaches.  She loves her food.  She yells and screams until she is nice and full or if she is hungry and sees us eating.  I've even had to give her a bottle (for the first time) the other day because she acted starved still.  She was a pro.  She took it and downed 2 oz in no time.  She's a growing baby I suppose.  Also she is full on sitting up.  That's the preferred position and gets pretty mad when she's stuck laying down.  She's so much fun and oozing with personality.  She's a lot more testier than Jaycee especially when it comes to food.  Also she will not cuddle.  It makes me sad.   I try when she's tired and she just cries.  She just prefers her bed with a blanket in her face (if it's not she'll put it there) with a binkie or thumb.  She does have blue eyes still-I'm hoping they stay.  She loves Milly and her sis Jaycee.  If she's sad all she needs to do is see one of them and she instantly calms down.  She sleeps usually 10-12 hours in her crib without a peep.  And my favorite is she gives the best hugs.  When I hold her she'll grab around your neck and just hold on tight.  It's the best.  I love that she'll still nurse especially since she won't cuddle but I thinking my milk is not keeping up with her needs.  Her favorite toy is probably her book the Easter bunny brought and she loves any blankies.  She's just growing so fast.  It still amazes me that it's already been 6 months!  We love our Hadi May.

Silly Milly

Meet Milly!  We made our parents Grandparents again---to a little Bugg.
Right when we were moving I was getting pretty pet hungry (yes, that is possible) for a little inside animal.  With our rental we couldn't have any more pets.  And now with our house Izzy stays outside.  (She's too big, sheds WAY too much and is NOT nice when people come over)  And she really does prefer outside so much better.  She has calmed down a lot since we got here and she's been out in the back running around.  Well Craig gave in and said I could get one as long as I did research...even a cat if I wanted.  Well the cat got ruled out pretty quick because their fur really affects me and I hate how they pee everywhere!  And besides they don't show the affection that we wanted.  When we got Izzy we really wanted a family dog that was friendly and could take places and we actually did a lot of research on labs, but unfortunately Izzy is 1-a mutt and 2-mostly Chesapeak bay which in turns makes her way, way protective to take anywhere.  If she's in her kennel or on a leash she gets a mind that she needs to protect us from things/people.  It's quite embarrasing.  Well Craig found a website/Ap that asks different questions on what we were looking for: small, low grooming, friendly/family, trainable and the results kept coming up with some terriers and pugs.  Chase has a pug and she is so cute so I decided that's what I wanted.  They are hard to come by.  We looked on Craig's List & Ebay and I found one.  The lady never called back.  I also like shih tzu and found one that needed to be rehomed but the whole grooming of shih tzu turned me off.  Also I've heard they are hard to potty training.  Well I fell back to the pugs.  As I was looking online I found the Bugg (pug & boston terrier mix) They are so cute!  They have the perfect mix of what I was looking for and the perfect build & smartness that Craig was looking for.  We found the one we wanted.  Craig contacted a lady and I contacted 2 ppl and both the ones I called they were all gone.  The one lady Craig called had 4 from the litter and we wanted to go that night and get the pick we wanted before other people came.  She was located in Salem which is about 1 1/2 hour from our house but with Portland traffic (5:00 wasn't a good idea) it took us a while.  Oh man all the pups were so so cute.  She also had boston terrier but we wanted to stick with the bugg.  The mom is 1/2 pug 1/2 boston with being 20lb and the dad is full boston weighing about 12-15 lbs so the size was perfect for what we wanted.  After sending texts we knew the girl one we wanted and there was one boy.  Well we hung out there for about 30 minutes and wanted to see how they interact and we changed our mind on the girl because the one we thought we wanted was too spunky which wouldn't be good with Hadi being so small.  The little girl we chose was calm and kind of a princess and the boy was so cute and calm too.  The boy kinda had a cough sound so it kinda scared us with breathing problems.  So we drove away with a little girly in Jaycee's lap.  I asked Jaycee what to name her and her first response was Charly.  I told her that was a boy name.  Upon talking all the way home we found some more names and after a day narrowed it to Charly, Milly, Maisy, Jerzi and Jaxy.  We decided Charly would win.  I thought Jaycee would be happy about that but she kept saying No, she's Milly.  And Craig and I kept slipping all day calling her Charming which is Sheri's dog name.  So Milly she became.

She's such a good pup.  She's very calm and loves to play, follow and lay around.  She LOVES Hadley!  Anytime Hadi is sleeping somewhere she wants to go cuddle up and lay with her.  It's so cute.  She likes Jaycee but Jaycee is used to Izzy so she's a little rough so Milly often runs away from her and finds Craig or I.  As we did yard work yesterday she followed us around all day.  It was so cute.  She does this cute head tilt when you talk to her-almost like she's trying to understand.  And she quickly is learning that "good girl" after going potty outside means she's getting a treat.  We still have accidents inside as expected but she's done pretty good.  Glad I have Z-lex.  We want her crate trained so night time she sleeps in there and for when we go to the store or out and about for a few hours.  Otherwise, she's small enough to come depending on where we go.  She's been so fun to have and such a different dog than Izzy was.  She likes to lick but hardly ever bites.  Mostly I'd say she just loves to sit and cuddle.  She's such a perfect addition to the Parker family.  We're hoping in a year that she'll go in heat and maybe the next year we'll let her have pups.  We're still thinking about it.  I'm pretty sure the pups would sell quick but I don't want her to be a money maker because that's not why we got her.  I just think it'd be fun if family wanted a puppy that she could be their mommy.

Oh and I had my first experience with fleas!  GROSS!!!!  When we got her the place had dogs, puppies, chickens, horses just everywhere and it was pretty dirty.  She mentioned another dog had fleas so I should've taken that as first thought.  When we were driving home I looked over and thought I saw a bug but then it went away and thought I was peranoid.  The next morning she was sitting on my lap and yup, sure enough there was a bug.  Right then and there I put her in the kennel and to Petco we went.  I had to give her a bath with Dawn dishsoap (kills the bugs) buy a flea collar for the vacuum, a comb to get them out and medicine to prevent it.  I felt so so bad as I was giving her the bath.  She was shivering and as I'm combing her little fur I'm just cussing that lady that we got her from.  How sad that these poor pups have bugs and not in a good environment.  I got 13 out!!!  Grosss!  Then all the clothes went in the wash and vacuum the whole house.  Luckily she didn't spend much time at all in the house but I still did all the cleaning just in case.  I'm glad we got our Milly and saved her from a nasty ass place.  She'll be treated like she deserves with us.
